Why Feature Your Listing?
This is quite simple.
Featured listings always come before regular listings in the top of the search results. The order of each featured listing is randomized. By having your listing towards the top of the search results, you are forcing everyone who searches for a sublease around your school to see your listing.
They can't view regular listings without first seeing the featured listings.
The more people who see your listing, the better your chances are of getting your place rented. It's a numbers game. There are more people trying to get out of a lease than there are trying to get into a sublease.
So the better you advertise, the less likely you are to be the one left paying rent.
