Listing a sublease

Q. What is a sublease?
A. An arrangement in which a tenant leases rental property to another, and the tenant becomes the landlord to the subtenant.

Q. What is the difference between a lessee and a lessor?
A. The lessee is the current tenant who is offering his/her place to sublease. The lessor will be the new tenant who leases from the lessee.

Q. What forms of payment are acceptable?
A. Visa®, Mastercard®, Discover®, American Express®, eCheck®, and PayPal® are all acceptable forms of payment.

Q. How long will my listing be active?
A. Your listing will be active until you remove it from our database. All listings will be deleted after they have been active for 6 months.

Q. How do I upload pictures?
A. First save your pictures to your hard drive. After choosing the number of pictures you will use for your listing click the browse button, locate the picture and then click upload.

Q. Do I have to upload 4 pictures?
A. No, you can upload 1, 2, 3, or 4 pictures.  Regardless of how many you upload, it will only cost $2.

Q. What is the advantage of a featured listing?

A. Your listing will appear in the featured section at the top of the search results page for your school. The order in which listings appear in the featured section is random but the featured listings will always be at the top of the search results page above basic listings.

Q. How does someone looking for a lease contact me?
A. Through the contact information you provided. Your e-mail address will never be made public on subleaser.com. Anytime someone wishes to contact you via e-mail it will be done through a form on Subleaser.com.

Q. Do I have to list my email address?
A. Yes. It is the primary way for people to contact you. Your e-mail address will never be made public on subleaser.com. Anytime someone wishes to contact you via e-mail it will be done through a form on subleaser.com.

Q. Do I have to list my phone number?

A. No. It does make it easier for someone to contact you if you choose to publish that information.

Q. Can I edit my listing after it has been submitted?

A. No. Please review everything to ensure it is correct before submitting it.

Q. Can I add my pictures to my listing at a later date?

A. No. You can only add pictures to your listing at the time that you list your sublease.

Q. Does subleaser.com offer any sublease forms?

A. You bet.  We have two sublease agreements to choose from.  You can choose from either Sublease Agreement #1 or Sublease Agreement #2.  Both are free!

Q. What if I could not find an answer to my question?

A. Click here to go to the contact us form.

Q. If my place has been leased, how do I remove it from the listings?

A. You received an email when you signed up. This email contains a link to deactivate your listing. If you have deleted this email you may contact us and we can manually remove your listing.

Q. Do I need to get a sublease agreement signed?

Finding a sublease

Q. How do I contact somebody about their sublease?
A. Once you find a listing you like, there is a link on which will allow you to contact them via e-mail. If they provided a phone number you may also choose to contact them that way.

Q. Does it cost anything to search?

A. No it is completely free to search and contact people.

Q. How do I narrow down my search results?

A. The more criteria you select the fewer relevant search results you will receive. There is also an advanced search option, to access this click the "Advanced Search" button below the Search box

Q. Why are there few or no results for my school?
A. You may have selected to many search criteria or there may not be any listings at your school. Check back often as listings are added daily.

Q. Do you offer a roommate finder service?

A. Not at this time.

Q. If there is no phone number listed, how do I contact somebody about their sublease?
A. Click the contact button within the listing which will allow you to send an e-mail to the lessor.
